Our Favorite Noteworthy Spots in Miami's Asian Food Scene
"Pure Wow recommends Azabu Miami Beach as one of the best restaurants in South Beach. It is a Michelin-starred restaurant that is inspired by the New York City restaurant style. The restaurant is divided into three sections as there is a cocktail bar, an elegant main dining room, and a sushi den with just 11 seats."
"Did not expect the interior to resemble the lobby of a Courtyard Inn, so we asked to sit outside which made up for the lack of ambiance."
"Ready for some of the most stunning unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean?. Sitting at 18 stories, WATR at 1 Hotel Rooftop has you covered. Whether you are staying at the Miami hotel or planning a visit to have some cocktails with views of Miami Beach, you will not be disappointed."
"Watr at the 1 Rooftop Miami is the perfect place to go to dazzle a date or have a memorable evening with friends. You can float 18 stories above the city and enjoy 360-degree views..."
"They served my $18 cocktail in a plastic cup while my friend’s drink was served in glass coup. Very disappointed about that More reviews"
"This Japanese-Peruvian restaurant first got its start inside the former St. Roch Market in 2018, but has since grown into a new larger space that’s all its own in the across the way in the Miami Design District’s Palm Court. Led by a brother, sister, and father team lovingly referred to a the “Chang Gang,” Itamae combines their Peruvian heritage with Japanese classics. Think a curated selection of specialty maki and vegan rolls, sashimi, rice bowls, alongside tiradito and ceviches, using ingredients like leche de tigre, fresh fish, and local produce."
"When I heard Itamae, an excellent Nikkei spot that initially debuted in a Design District food hall, was going to open its own restaurant, I was way too excited. I probably checked their Instagram page on a weekly basis for updates. I even ended up interviewing Nando and Val Chang about the process of opening during a pandemic, which sounded like a planetary-size headache."
"Itamae has garnered much local and national fame for its unique attack of Japanese-Peruvian cuisine. Itamae is where you can get intricately rolled concoctions topped with fresh-as-can-be ceviche over the counter. What was considered one of the best pop-ups at the former St. Roch Market now has a bright new brick & mortar inside Miami Design District’s Palm Court."
"Restaurants Japanese South Beach. One of the original New York imports to find a home in South Beach (there are many now), Blue Ribbon is a solid choice in the neighborhood. It’s small but offers outdoor seating by the pool (it’s inside the Plymouth Hotel) and a comfortable sushi counter where you can watch the pros go to work on your rolls."
"This laid-back sushi bar has a great focus on classic rolls, traditional sake and grilled specials served in a comfortable, homely atmosphere made even more welcoming by happy, helpful servers."

"Kaori is a Mediterranean/Asian restaurant inside the SLS LUX Brickell. Their menu includes crudo options, salads, and large plates like octopus, braised short rib, and seared salmon."
"Using all-natural ingredients, this family-run shop offers homemade Cuban ice cream, with flavors such as Café con Leche (Cuban coffee and oreo), Willy Cherrino (double cherry), and its signature Abuela Maria®, a Cuban classic consisting of red guava, cream cheese and sweet galletas. The shop, located in Little Havana, prides itself on creating new flavors daily, and when possible, using locally sourced fruits and vegetables from south Florida farmers. In 2013, Azucar Ice Cream was voted the Best Ice Cream by the Miami Times Herald."
"With a rotating board of fresh ice creams made daily, Azucar is the go-to spot for a sweet treat in Little Havana. There are more than 100 flavors, from originals like the Abuela Maria, which has a vanilla base mixed with guava, cream cheese, and crispy galletas, to classics like chocolate. The Miami sun can be pretty brutal, and Azucar’s ice creams are probably the perfect way to cool down."
"After lunch, cool off with a delicious ice cream treat from Azucar, which offers locally-inspired flavors like Sweet Plantain, Cafe con Leche, and Caramel Flan. What to do in Miami in 2 days: Day 1 Afternoon"
"Things to do Event spaces Wynwood. Stationed in the 1-800-Lucky courtyard, this small truck doles out those whimsical, fish-shaped ice cream cones that flooded your Instagram feed two summers ago. While not everything you see on the internet tastes good, these cones do."
"This family-owned and -operated shop strives to bring the old-time ice cream shop feel to customers. Wall’s red-and-white umbrellas and large flavor selection lure visitors to more traditional flavors including rocky road, butter pecan and fun flavors like Superman. A three-time winner as a Best Ice Cream Parlor by the Miami New Times, Wall’s ensures even your taste buds smile."
"Wall's Old Fashioned Ice Cream does things — well, the old-fashioned way. Ice cream is made in traditional flavors made with fresh ingredients. Even the fudge is homemade, a simple combination of butter, chocolate, sugar, and cream, prepared in small batches to ensure freshness."
"Restaurants Ice cream parlors Dadeland. This old-timey Miami spot has been around since the 1950s. It’s vintage and charming, even if the flavor options are seemingly stuck in the past."
"A guide to the ultimate weekend in Miami, any time of year, with cocktails by the pool, art walks and Art Deco spotting, and a little Latin flavor."
"Another Peruvian restaurant that is worth checking out is Aromas del Peru. Some of the menu choices include traditional Creole cuisine with a classic style that you will surely love along with innovative dishes. With great food and service, it has everything that you need to enjoy a lovely meal."
